SYNOPSYS

Minamimaru Yoji is an ordinary university student with an unusual and seemingly trivial supernatural ability—he can create tiny holes in any object. One day, he is told that Professor Marukami, a folklorist, is looking for him. But when Yoji visits the lab, he discovers that the professor has already gone missing after departing for a mysterious rural village known as “Marukami Village.”
Soon after, bizarre and gruesome murders begin to occur in the village, and Yoji joins the professor’s research students in traveling there. In Marukami Village, strange customs tied to a powerful lineage of supernatural abilities and an enigmatic Tanabata Festival—held at irregular intervals—are deeply rooted in local tradition.
As Yoji unravels the secrets of the village, he begins to uncover the origins of his own powers and identity. Faced with a growing threat that endangers both the village and the outside world, Yoji must confront the boundary between humanity and supernatural power.
